Rugby: The Power of A Dream, pt. 2"The place is quite recovering itself and likely to do very well before long and the settlers are a capital lot now, winnowed by their earlier trials." Though marred by drought and plaque, the colony of Rugby rebounds and is quickly becoming a 19th century global village. In part 2 of this series, Thomas turns over the day to day events of the colony to his brother Hastings and his own mother Martha, dedicated to the success of Rugby, journeys with her granddaughter Emily to take up residence in the little village. As the makeup of the town starts to change, 1884 marks the heyday of Rugby. For more information, visit www.historicrugby.org. |
